About Us: GBSUP CIC is a dynamic and innovative Community Interest Company dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, diverse and accessible way for people to access the sport of SUP (StandUp Paddleboard) and Prone Racing in the UK. We are passionate about making a tangible difference in our community and seek a Director who shares our commitment to social impact.
Job Description: As the Director of our CIC, you will play a pivotal role in steering the organisation towards its strategic goals. You will be responsible for working with the other directors to oversee the daily operations, manage the volunteers' team, and ensure our racing series aligns with our community-focused mission. Your directorship will be instrumental in fostering relationships with stakeholders, securing funding, and driving sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the organisation, ensuring it operates effectively and efficiently.
Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the company's objectives and community needs.
Financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting as required.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and funders.
Represent the company at public events, races, and conferences as required.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and CIC-specific requirements.
Champion the company's values and promote a positive organisational culture.
Qualifications:
Proven leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit or community-focused organisation.
Understanding of the unique dynamics and legal framework of Community Interest Companies.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in financial management and fundraising.
Passionate about community development and social impact.
