2025 British National Championships
Hosted within the Paddle Logger Falmouth Bay Open, featuring a new ICF-aligned fleet and age category format!
Time & Location:June 7th & 8th, 2025Gylly Beach, Falmouth, Cornwall, UK
About the Event:
The 2025 British National Championships, incorporated into the Paddle Logger Falmouth Bay Open, is the premier UK event for stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and Prone paddleboarding. Gylly Beach, Falmouth, offers a stunning coastal setting with clear waters and a scenic bay, making it an ideal racecourse. Modern facilities are conveniently located nearby for both competitors and spectators. This event also serves as the selection ground for Team GB and Team England for the ICF (International Canoe Federation) and ISA (International Surfing Association) world championships, respectively. Expect high-level competition, thrilling races, and the chance to witness the country's top paddlers competing in a new ICF-aligned format.
In addition to the adults' competition for national titles and international selections, we also have our Challenge Tour fleet, which is aimed at novices. It's a great opportunity to get on the start line with the best paddlers in the country, experience racing, and get a taste of the National Championships without the pressure of the main competition. Challenge Tour paddlers will complete the same course formats as our race fleets but over a reduced distance.
Juniors at the 2025 British National Championships
This year, Paddle UK is supporting us so that all Junior competitors can enter for Free of Charge!
The event also includes Junior championships for SUP and Prone competitors in the Under-14 and Under-17 age groups.
The Paddle Logger Falmouth Bay Open, run in partnership between GBSUP and Gylly Surf Lifesaving Club, is proud to host the British National Championships. With a focus on showcasing top-tier paddleboarding, this collaboration is committed to providing an exceptional event experience for all attendees. Paddle Logger, a leading tech company in the sport, is the host sponsor, and the Falmouth Bay Open is their home event. This year will see an even stronger collaboration between the event format and Paddle Logger's technology, with some innovative additions to the event.

2025 British National Championships Config
For the 2025 British National Championships, we are adopting the ICF age group rulings for our SUP competitors. This means a streamlined category setup covering Open (18+) and two Masters fleets: 40+ and 50+.
Our 2025 British National Champions will be awarded from the overall positions of all three events combined: Distance, Tech, and Sprint races. Champion titles are awarded in the competitive SUP and Prone fleets, including the newly aligned Masters categories for SUP competitors.
The overall British National Champions are awarded from the Open (18+) category in the SUP fleets.
International Selections Events and Criteria
The full criteria for the respective ICF (Team GB) and ISA (Team England) selections will be set out in the selection policies released by Paddle UK and Surfing England, respectively. An athlete wishing to be selected for a specific discipline may choose to enter only that specific race to secure a selection. Selection takes place across Distance, Tech, and Sprint events, subject to confirmation of the respective National Governing Body (NGB) policies.
